A few years ago, I was a German international student seeking a career in academic medicine in the US. I started as a college student at a large public school in Florida, unsure how to best navigate the system. ​I learned two points:

1. College advisors are far removed from the realities of applying to competitive US programs, and online forums lack insider knowledge.

2. Large consulting firms often charge ridiculous prices for advising services.

About me

Originally from Germany, I am currently a third-year MD/PhD student at Weill Cornell. Prior to medical school, I obtained an MSc in Neuroscience from the University of Oxford under the Clarendon Scholarship. I secured more than four fellowships from institutions like MIT, Novartis, and the NIH. On my path, I received more than 12 research and academic awards. I have extensive experience mentoring students, and most recently established a peer mentorship program at my undergraduate institution.
I am interested in computational and cognitive neuroscience and aim to pursue a career as a physician-scientist.
